Host and Target Availability
VADS and Rational Apex
Sharpen your competitive edge with Rational Software
Corporation.
VADS
The VADS(R) family consists of VADSself(TM), VADScross(TM), and
VADSworks(TM). VADSself provides a complete toolset for self-targeted (native) applications. VADScross provides real-time
support for host-to-target development of embedded systems.
VADScross includes every tool provided in VADSself, plus additional
tools that extend VADS to provide a fast, efficient cross-development system. VADSworks is a version of VADScross that
supports the VxWorks runtime executive from Wind River Systems,
making VADSworks ideal for VME-based and I/O-intensive
applications. Any of the VADS products can be used in conjunction
with Rational Apex(R) (see other side), and each product includes a
validated compiler, a performance optimizer, a symbolic debugger, a
library-management system, a compilation manager, and several
additional programming tools. For self-hosted systems, performance
profiling and POSIXbindings are also included.
Additional host/target combinations
VADSself, VADScross, and VADSworks are available as off-the-shelf
products for most popular hosts and host/target combinations. Other
combinations, not shown here, can be created and supported as
standard Rational products.
If your particular host/target combination does not appear here,
please contact your Rational representative for information on the
development schedule.
